MSPC Volunteer Appreciation
Madison Square Park Conservancy is indebted to our volunteers for their invaluable contributions to the Park. Every year, volunteers have proven instrumental to the success of our seasonal horticulture and maintenance projects, making it so Park staff can devote more time to keeping this public green space pristine, vibrant, and healthy for all. In the spring and summer, volunteers assist with tasks including: fertilization, mulching, bulb pulling, cleaning out planting beds, bench painting, memorial flag installation, and annual planting. In the fall, they assist with leaf cleanup, bulb planting, and holiday decorating, in addition to helping us throughout the year with our various fundraising events, which help support the Park.
Volunteer opportunities are available through our Mad. Friends Membership program and our Mad. Corp. Friends program, which you can learn more about here. This year, our corporate volunteer partners have included Sony, Credit Suisse, New York Life, Con Edison, Reorg Research, Oath, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and Zero-In. We also partnered with SUS to provide outdoor trade skills development to underserved community members. Members from each of these businesses and organizations have come out, rain or shine, braving the elements, to leave Madison Square Park better than how they found it. If you’re a member who would like to volunteer or learn more about volunteer opportunities, please get in touch with us here.
Thank you so much to our dedicated volunteers for helping us maintain our world-class gardens and amenities, we couldn’t do it without you!
