Madison Square Park is the proud home of the Eternal Light Flagstaff, which was dedicated on Armistice Day in 1924 to commemorate the return of the victorious United States forces from the First World War. A wreath-laying ceremony at the monument commences New York’s annual Veterans Day Parade—the largest in the country.
