Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count
Everyone is welcome to participate in this nationwide citizen science project brought to you by National Audubon Society, and organized locally by New York City Audubon. This is the largest annual survey on bird populations, and we’re excited to participate.
Join us for the Bird Count and you will be given a guide on local birds, a clipboard, pencil, and bird identification cards. Please bring your own binoculars. New York City Audubon will compile count results from all across NYC and submit the findings into the National Audubon database. This data will allow the Audubon researchers, conservation biologists, wildlife agencies, and other interested individuals to study the long-term health and status of bird populations across North America.
This event takes place on Sunday, December 18th from 8am-9am. Please meet at the Southern Fountain at 8am sharp. Rain or shine.
