Monuments of Migration: A Public Reading of Refugee Stories

Madison Square Park is partnering with PEN America World Voices Festival to welcome resettled refugees and award-winning actors to read moving passages from texts centered on stories of migration and immigration, including Hannah Arendt’s We Refugees (1943), Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (2000), Dave Eggers’ What is the What (2006), Dinaw Mengestu’s The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears (2007), and Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner (2003).
