Hello, from Paul Teti at Columbia Property Trust

Hello, my name is Paul Teti, and I am thrilled to have recently joined the MSPC board. I am an Executive Vice President at Columbia Property Trust which is headquartered just a block east of the Park at 315 Park Avenue South. Columbia owns and operates Class A office buildings in New York, Washington D.C., Boston, and San Francisco, as well as the surrounding metropolitan areas.

At each Columbia property and in each neighborhood where we operate, we take great care to ensure that we live as a good corporate citizen within the community, including being actively engaged in service and volunteer opportunities. To that end, I am eager to contribute to the continued vibrancy and long-term success of Madison Square Park!

Madison Square Park is such an important part of our neighborhood and our City, and I admire it every day as I walk across the park to and from the office, and also appreciate the enjoyment I get from just gathering with colleagues, family, and friends for a bite to eat or a walk. My two daughters love coming in for a visit and, of course, to enjoy Shake Shack in the park!

Throughout the pandemic, I have often walked over to the park to meet someone outdoors, and I marvel at what a critical role the park plays for people of all walks of life, ages, genders, and ethnicities. I’ll see children enjoying their recess from school, businesspeople taking a break, and countless people just enjoying some exercise or one of the art exhibits. The park is a truly “open” space for all to enjoy and benefit from, without barriers or exclusivities. It is a beautiful example of our City in harmony, and I am so glad to become a small part of its ongoing vitality.

The Conservancy’s efforts and success in providing a space to breathe amidst the trying circumstances of this past year has been nothing less than remarkable – and a true gift to the community at large. Along with my colleagues at Columbia Property Trust, I look forward to continuing to work with the Conservancy to find ways to support the neighborhoods and communities we serve.
