In 1986, David Weinstone attended Berkeley College of Music in Boston where he studied theory, composition, and guitar. He then came to New York City in 1989 to pursue a career as a rock star. After the birth of his first child, David began Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals in reaction to the dearth of cool kid’s music available. In an exhilarating range of musical styles executed with superb musical literacy and richness of instrumentation, his songs reflected and celebrated the lives of children growing up in urban environments as well as themes universal to all children.
Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals continues to grow both locally, nationally and internationally. David has received glowing press including full-page feature articles in the NY Daily News, The New York Times, Time Out Kids, Time Magazine and many other magazines and newspapers. He is currently a featured artist on Nick Jr. and is writing a children’s book with a CD attached.
