Mad. Sq. Kids: Music for the Whole Family Celebrates 11 Seasons
Madison Square Park Conservancy is thrilled to present its 11th season of Mad. Sq. Kids, a series of free outdoor performances for children and their families that takes place rain or shine in the Park on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30am, June 11 to August 8.
The Conservancy presents an eclectic mix of family artists that are engaging and relate to both children and their parents. Mad. Sq. Kids showcases a unique performance roster with musical virtuosity, witty lyrics, and energetic tunes, which parents will want to sing along to as much as their children.

June 18 – The Deedle Deedle Dees are a Brooklyn based educational rock band known for their high-energy interactive performances and innovative school programs.
July 20 – Matt Wilson’s Family Jazz Band, Join Matt Wilson and his Family Jazz Band (Patrice Turner, Doug Wamble, Jeff Lederer and Martin Wind) as they play Jazz favorites sure to make you dance and sing!
June 25 -Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, People Magazine‘s #1 Cool Kid Album of the Year and USA Today’s #1 Band pick – Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band are the face of kindie rock.
June 27 – KBC Kids bring family-friendly, positive “Hip Pop” to kids of all ages! Their fresh sound is filling a major void in the children’s market and allows parents to get their groove on too!
July 2 – Big Bang Boom create musical magic for kids from one to 92. Big Bang Boom’s live show is high-energy with both parents and children finding it hard to stay in their seats!
July 9 – Alastair Moock and Friends bring their rompin’ family music concert to the Mad. Sq. Kids stage! The Boston Globe calls Alastair one of “Boston’s best and most adventurous songwriters.” 5 star family entertainment!
July 11 – David Weinstone and the Music for Aardvarks Band, Time magazine declared, “David Weinstone is music to the ears of toddlers and their grateful parents.” They’re celebrating childhood without the hype of straining to be different for the sake of being different, and they’re back to turn Madison Square Park into a kiddie mosh pit! Yay.
July 16 – â€¨Recess Monkey is the nationally celebrated trio of teachers who rock from Seattle, WA! Praised for their high-energy, kid-driven songs, Drew, Jack and Korum have a pitch-perfect understanding of what gets kids excited!
July 18 – Robbi K & Friends sing in many languages and presents interactive, danceable jazzy concerts suited for people of all ages and stages. Multiple Parents’ Choice Award winner, Robbi K’s beautiful voice has graced TV, radio, and live venues.
July 23 – The Rockdoves touch on everything from urban living and nature, to the value of friendship, family and home. Drawing inspiration from folk, blues and rock â€˜n roll, they offer an exciting, interactive live performance that delights audiences with its blend of education, comedy, movement and storytelling.
July 25 – Songs for Seeds is a rockin’ children’s band that encourages kids ages newborn – 5 years to sing, play along with a live guitarist, keyboardist and drummer. Mixing kids rock â€˜n’ roll with great adult tunes, the band pleases everyone both big & small.
July 30 – The Dirty Sock Funtime Band is “New York’s best rock band for kids” (Time Out Kids reader’s poll), and the makers of “the most innovative and exciting children’s music EVER! (MTV). Their live show of rock music, comedy and interactive jams tour across the globe. DSFB recently finished their first world tour, playing for the children of members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
August 1 – Billy Jonas and the Billy Jonas Band are impossible to categorize. Billy combines influences from all types of music and one-of-a-kind sources, including the audience’s imagination.
August 6 – The Suzi Shelton Band, led by Brooklyn-based kindie rocker Suzi Shelton, showcases tunes from her latest EP Tomboy in a Princess Dress. Bring a blanket and get ready for some fist pumping, high-flying, singable, danceable fun!
August 8 – Shine and the Moonbeams is family music’s first soul band. Come clap your hands and stomp your feet and rejoice in the celebration of the rhythm of all things family.
