Fall Kids Fest 2011 Press Release

FALL KIDS FEST 2011 RETURNS TO MADISON SQUARE PARK ON OCTOBER 15
Madison Square Park Conservancy and Time Out Kids Present Free Weekend Fun for the Family

Madison Square Park Conservancy announces Fall Kids Fest 2011, a day of free outdoor fun for families with children on October 15 from 11am to 2pm. Spend this autumn Saturday with your young ones while enjoying live music, arts and crafts, face painting, snacks, and much more! Fall Kids Fest celebrates the change of seasons and the spirit of Halloween, giving your pint-sized Spiderman or Cinderella the opportunity to march around the park in a costume parade led by a Big Apple Circus Clown, and to pick a perfect pumpkin from the patch to decorate and take home.

Kids Fest this year will also host the CLIF Kid Backyard Game of the Year Playoffs. The Playoffs present the five finalists of the Backyard Game of the Year Contest, which invited children to invent and submit their own creative outdoor games. Kids Fest attendees can join in and play these games with the five finalists, who will fly in for the occasion, and find out who will win the grand prize of a $10,000 educational scholarship.

Fall Kids Fest 2011 takes place rain or shine at Madison Square Park, which is located between 23rd and 25th Streets and Madison and Fifth Avenues. The recommended age for Kids Fest music and activities is 0-12 years. Children should be aged 5-12 years to fully enjoy the CLIF Kid Backyard Games. This free, public event is co-presented by Time Out Kids and sponsored by New York Life, Appleseeds, Marimekko, CLIF Kid, CLIF Bar, Big Apple Circus, The Little Orchestra Society, The Museum of Mathematics, and Rubin Museum of Art.
