Celebrate Flatiron Chefs!

RETURN TO CELEBRATE FLATIRON CHEFS!

The 9th annual outdoor culinary extravaganza, featuring star chefs and restaurants, returns to historic Madison Square Park on July 16.

New York, NY (May 30, 2013) – As summer begins to take hold in the minds of New Yorkers, thoughts turn to the one-of-a-kind summertime events that can only be found in New York City. Celebrate Flatiron Chefs!, hosted by the Madison Square Park Conservancy, is the highly anticipated annual gathering of beloved restaurants, well-respected chefs, and artisanal drink purveyors from the Flatiron district and surrounding neighborhoods. Held from 5:30-8:30pm on July 16, guests will enjoy a plethora of delectable dishes and refreshing beverages all while enjoying the scenery of the historic Flatiron district and the atmosphere provided by Mad. Sq. Art’s world class art program, lush trees and vibrant flowers in Madison Square Park.

Since the inaugural Celebrate Flatiron Chefs! in 2005, guests have grown accustomed to the excellent mix of neighborhood mainstays and fresh new talent – and this year’s event is no different. We are pleased to share an exciting list of newcomers such as acclaimed restaurants Hanjan, Maysville and The NoMad. Altogether 30 fantastic chefs and restaurants, including favorites Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, ilili Restaurant, and Resto, will bring their culinary acumen, contributing to the biggest and best Celebrate Flatiron Chefs! event yet.

In addition to the stellar line-up of eateries, an equally impressive beverage section will serve to quench your thirst, ease the heat, and help to set the mood. Notable beverage participants include an expanded beer roster headlined by Brooklyn Brewery, a robust cocktail row which includes Four Roses Bourbon, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and El Buho Mezcal, as well as local wineries from Long Island Wine Country. If the aforementioned don’t suit your taste, we will have copious non-alcoholic beverages including Stumptown Coffee Roasters and an abundance of water and soda stations.

Tickets are $350 for early admission at 5:30pm, or $200 for general entry at 6:30pm and can be purchased at madisonsquarepark.org or by calling (212) 538-0018. Funds raised support Madison Square Park’s horticulture, maintenance and free cultural programs, including Mad. Sq. Art, Mad. Sq. Music, and Mad. Sq. Kids. Celebrate Flatiron Chefs! is supported by Condé Nast Traveler, Delta Air Lines, Los Cabos Tourism Board, NIZUC Resort & Spa, MasterCard® Priceless® New York, Mexico Tourism Board, and Seagram’s Ginger Ale.
