Mad. Sq. Kids is the Conservancy’s free series of programs for children. For information about Mad. Sq. Kids, please contact us at (212) 786-5733. Mad. Sq. Kids programming includes:

The Art Yard is a new workshop series that brings in some of the best independent visual and performance artists to teach your little one a new artistic skill.

Mad. Sq. Kids Concerts are  free interactive concerts  held  on the Farragut Lawn  performed by  an eclectic mix of today’s top children’s performing artists.

Playground Activities are free activities held in the Police Officer Moira Ann Smith Playground  including Reading Rangers, as well as Art in the Park and EXPLORE! led   by the  dedicated  Mad. Sq. Park Teaching Artist.

M.U.C.K. (Madison Urban Club for Kids),  led by Gardener Steph,  presents  lessons on horticulture and our environment.

Kids Fest is a children’s festival featuring arts and crafts, live music, theater, storytelling, face painting, and more. More details on Kids Fest 2015 to come.

M.U.C.K. – Beneficial Insects (10am)

Identify different insects and learn about their important role in our ecosystem.

After learning about beneficial insects in M.U.C.K, take flight with these wacky dragonfly magnets!

The New York Public Library presents a traditional story time from the Kips Bay branch to our playground.

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1 – ART IN THE PARK

Sunny Butterflies (10am)

Spread your wings and soak up the sun! Learn about symmetry and transparency by making your own butterfly sun catcher.

Koinobori Kites (2pm)

Celebrate a belated Children’s Day with these bright flying fish kites! Learn about the holiday Children’s day in this Japanese-inspired craft.
