Mad. Sq. Kids is the Conservancy’s free series of programs for children. For information about Mad. Sq. Kids, please contact us at (212) 786-5733. Mad. Sq. Kids programming includes:

The Art Yard is a new workshop series that brings in some of the best independent visual and performance artists to teach your little one a new artistic skill.

Mad. Sq. Kids Concerts are  free interactive concerts  held  on the Farragut Lawn  performed by  an eclectic mix of today’s top children’s performing artists.

Playground Activities are free activities held in the Police Officer Moira Ann Smith Playground  including Reading Rangers, as well as Art in the Park and EXPLORE! led   by the  dedicated  Mad. Sq. Park Teaching Artist.

M.U.C.K. (Madison Urban Club for Kids),  led by Gardener Steph,  presents  lessons on horticulture and our environment.

Kids Fest is a children’s festival featuring arts and crafts, live music, theater, storytelling, face painting, and more. More details on Kids Fest 2015 to come.

MONDAY, AUGUST 31 —  M.U.C.K. & ART IN THE PARK

M.U.C.K. – Machinery (10am)

EXPLORE! Cart open from 10am-12pm featuring a variety of self-guided worksheets and games for all ages.

Garden Gnomies (2pm)

After learning about what tools make it possible to grow your own garden, make a garden gnome to keep your budding flowers company!

 

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 – READING RANGERS (10am)

The Montessori Schools will be at Madison Square Park to provide an enriching story time followed by an art activity. Montessori trained Lead Guides will be reading a books by Eric Carle and providing a collage art activity to explore the artist’s style.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 – ART IN THE PARK

Fish Friends (10am)

Make a splash with your own fishy creation! Explore texture and pattern through collage, drawing and painting.

Underwater Colors (2pm)

Travel through a nautical world of your own making. Learn cool watercolor techniques to bring your picture to life!

 

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 — EXPLORE! & ART IN THE PARK

EXPLORE! (10am)

EXPLORE! Cart open from 10am-12pm featuring a variety of self-guided worksheets and games for all ages. Meet Alison in the Police Officer Moira Ann Smith Playground or Sparrow Lawn (across from the playground).

Buggy Masks (2pm)

Forget Ant Man and Spiderman! Turn yourself into an insect creature by making an amazing bug mask!

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 —  READING RANGERS (10am)

Join Alison, our Mad. Sq. Park teaching artist, for Tales with a Twist storytime in the Police Office Moira Ann Smith Playground.
